Jvion and Treks Health Announced as Winners in 2020 Georgia Healthcare Innovation Challenge (GHIC)

Entrepreneurs Invited to Beta test with Navicent Healthcare Companies

MACON, GA (October 30, 2020 ) – Navicent Health – in partnership with Atlanta Tech Village, Georgia HIMSS and TAG Digital Health – has announced the winners of the 2020 Georgia Healthcare Innovation Challenge (GHIC).

The challenge wrapped up on October 29 at a forward-pitch competition where seven finalists presented for the opportunity to conduct beta tests with a Navicent Health company. The partners launched the Challenge on July 30th with the mission of fostering collaboration between medical and technology providers to improve the delivery of healthcare in Georgia. For the past 13 weeks, entrepreneurs have been on a multi-phase journey, meeting with Navicent company CEOs, mentors and preparing product demos and company pitches for the competition on October 29th.

Challenge #1, centered around predictive modeling, was presented by Dale Boylston, CEO of TC2. The team selected Jvion as the winner. The goal of this challenge was to create a solution to identify rising risk individuals in order to improve their care delivery and experience.

Jvion provides healthcare organizations with an accurate and concise way to address avoidable patient harm, financial risks and adverse member health outcomes.

“We had four great finalists, each able to meaningfully advance TC2’s predictive modeling capabilities for rising risk beneficiaries. We ultimately chose Jvion for their ability to rapidly integrate and enhance our current claims data with extensive insights around key social determinants of health. The result will substantially improve our ability to identify, engage, and assist patients before they require expensive inpatient care ”, said Dale Boylston.

Challenge #2, centered around pediatric asthma, was presented by Laura Gentry, CEO of Medical Center of Peach County, Navicent Health. The team selected Treks Health as the winner. The goal of this challenge was to create a novel approach to assist children and teenagers managing their asthma

Treks Health is a gamified health management solution that captivates children and parents throughout their journey to develop the skills they need for self-management.

“All of the finalists had such incredible solutions for our challenge, however, Treks Health was able to present a solution that provides education in a fun way for our younger patients that have asthma,” said Laura Gentry. “Their solution checked all of the boxes that we were looking for.”

Now that the Challenge winners have been selected, they will immediately begin working with the respective CEO and their teams to prepare to launch their pilots in the first quarter of 2021.
