Two Big Takeaways From Our Latest Atlanta Healthcare Entrepreneur Meetup
Sell the vision - Focus on what matters!
Sell the vision - Focus on what matters!
We recently had a great Atlanta Healthcare Entrepreneur Meetup with Jaimie Clark from the Catalyst program by Wellstar. There were lots of good stories and lessons learned, but two ones specifically stood out to me.
Sell the Vision
The first area was really on being able to sell the vision on how you can change healthcare. Regardless of your company, you have to sell the vision on you, the problem, the market, and the idea. We know things will change, but you have to get people excited about the direction you are going and what is possible. Furthermore, they have to believe you are the right person to get there. Of course there are lots of details on your plan, financials, how to execute, etc. but if you don’t sell the vision then customers, investors, and potential employees won’t choose to work with you.
Focus on What Matters
At the end of the day, healthcare is about that - the care of one’s health. So Jaimie made a great point to make sure healthcare entrepreneurs tie their vision and story ultimately back to patient care. How can it save lives, improve the patient experience, help physicians deliver better care and outcomes, etc. While there may be lots of cool new technology, be sure you can support how it ultimately ties back to impacting patients in a positive way.
We all can get lost in the details sometimes, so this was a great reminder to really focus on the vision and ultimately what matters in your space.
We’ll be hosting our next meetup in November, so be on the lookout for your opportunity to RSVP!
